Re: Neutral Safety Switch Question
Thanks for the replies. I should've mentioned, mine is an early '66 with Cruise-O-Matic.

Neutral Safety Switch Question
On my '66, I noticed that the car won't start with the steering column in the swing-away position (all the way to the right). Is that normal? It starts right up when I swing the column to the straight-ahead position. Is that an indication of a neutral safety switch adjustment issue?

Re: Rear Leaf Sags
My rear springs were sagging. The tires were scrapping the wheel well if I hit a bump, even a small one. I tried a pair of Superior "spring helpers" last year. Eliminated a lot of the scrapping. Also, I measured the ride height before and after. I gained almost 2 inches.

Re: Radio noise when applying brakes
I was having the same issue with my stock '66 AM radio. Took it to a shop near me that repairs old car radios. Now, it's like new. I was told it needed capacitors.

Re: Rear Brakes Grabbing
Cliff: You wanted to know the outcome with my rear brakes. My brake expert finally checked it out. Everything looked normal. However, the drums have been machined to the max, and the adjustors are turned all the way. Is it possible the knocking I was hearing at the rear when applying the brakes was ...

Re: Rear Brakes Grabbing
Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate it. The brake shoes have not been changed recently. Every time I have them inspected, they look good and have about 50% to 60% left. The guy I rely on for brake work isn't available for a couple of weeks, so I'll wait until he can inspect it. If the shoes/dru...

Rear Brakes Grabbing
When I apply the brakes, the rear end feels like it's crossing rows of uneven railroad tracks. The brakes are grabbing, there's a knocking noise, and the rear end shudders. I have to use the lightest pedal pressure possible. Used to just be when the car was cold. Now, it seems to be full time. What ...

Headlight Spring
I found this picture on eBay. Is the area I circled in pink where the spring is supposed to attach? My headlight came loose, and I’m having trouble reattaching it. The previous owner really botched things up. The area I circled is missing on mine—it’s just an open gap. The spring was attached where ...

Re: 65 Door Lock Guard Issue
My lock protectors were already broken off when I bought my car. No telling how long they've been gone, but it hasn't hurt anything. The locks work fine.
