Re: tilt hood

Contact Leon Grice on the 61, 62, 63 Thunderbird Facebook page. He posted a lot of pics of his tilt mod just finished a couple of months ago. Here's a pic:

Re: Cowl Vent/Drain Area Rust

Great post...but now I'm scared. I've only found 1 spot of real rust on my car and that's in the cowl behind the rear window. I have a parts car with a panel that is not rusted through that will get treated with eastwoods rust encapsulator prior to installation. But now I'm worried about the front....

Re: Finally - after three years!

Hi truesteve. I didn't cut the front springs at all. I think they're just a little worn and sitting lower than stock. A previous owner had put several of those cheap corkscrew-style spacers in the coils. I took those out. The wheels are 2005-2014 Mustang GT Chrome Bullitt Wheels (18" x 8.5"...

Re: Cowl Vent/Drain Area Rust

And . . . PASSENGER SIDE REPAIRS: Same procedure as the driver's side. Cut open the sub-cowl: http://www.jimlpatterson.com/S_P21.jpg http://www.jimlpatterson.com/S_P22.jpg Assess the rust damage. Wire brush as best as possible in the cramped space. Cut out the very thin, rough edges. http://www.jim...

Re: Cowl Vent/Drain Area Rust

I guess I should finish this post with the rest of the story . . . . DRIVER SIDE REPAIRS: I screwed the patch panel to the metal I wanted to weld it to. Then I used my old mig welder to tack-weld it in place, spot to spot, working my way around the patch until I had welds along all edges. Then groun...

Re: Finally - after three years!

Here's a good site for listing almost all cruises and rod runs around the Louisville area:

Knights Cruise on the 4th Friday of every month is one I visit periodically. (Bardstown Rd, Fern Creek)

Re: Finally - after three years!

I'll be working the Mecum auction here in Louisville Sept. 8 - 10, so won't be able to make the Coffee and Cars that day. Bummer.

Re: Finally - after three years!

I was at Coffee and Cars a couple of times last year as a spectator but haven't been this year at all.
Do you happen to know what Saturday in September it will be?

UPDATE - - Re: Aftermarket Gauges & Introduction

Last year I bit the bullet and bought a set of Classic Instrument 5" gauges at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville. In the process of putting together my refurbed interior over the last month or more, I decided to go ahead and get these things to fit. I modified the inside of the bezels to f...

Re: Dash Lights

Ignore my post above. I figured out my problem. I had everything together and installed in the interior except the gauges. The dash light wires were just hanging there. I expected them to work, but they didn't. While scanning the wiring diagram I noticed that each light is shown as being grounded. W...

Finally - after three years!

FINALLY….. After three years of on-and-off-again work, the car is drive-able – well almost. The gauges aren’t finished/installed yet, but I got the interior back together, started it and drove around the neighborhood tonight! Activity over those three years: totally stripped and refurbed interior – ...

Re: Dash Lights

rob280, I am just about finished putting together my interior and have the identical problem you encountered! I too tried two different light switch mechanisms, but still no dash lights. You state: "it was the 12 amp circuit breaker for the auxiliary lights. I moved the wires to the ho side of ...

bigdog,

Here's a link to a post on how to post images:

Personally I load mine up to a website I host and then put the URL of the photo into the [img] syntax within the message editor.
