Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
I do not have the low fuel light. There isn't even a hole for one. I have a three pin sender and a three pin harness. I have not looked for the LFL relay. My best guess at this point is that someone replaced my dash with a dash that didn't have the low fuel light option. Not only does my dash not ha...

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
After a super busy half a year, finally got around to tearing the rest of this problem apart. Thanks for all your help! What I discovered: 1) Pulled the sending unit in the tank. It is the original unit with brass tank. Not surprisingly, the float has a pinhole leak and was completely full of gas. M...

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
OK, so I put a gauge on the "red" wire, and sure enough the "blinking" is a fluctuating voltage, presumably from the CVR. (As an aside...seeing how it works to reduce the voltage by surging on and off, it is the complete opposite of what a "constant voltage regulator" w...

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
Wow. That is super helpful. Thanks Wally! I did actually get under the car and pull the plug from the sending unit. Three pins and three connectors in the rubber boot. So, it looks like I need to pull the dash apart again and find the 5 volt power for the fuel gauge. Just to be clear before I embark...

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
I have a 1966 Q-code convertible. Some previous owner changed out the dash to the Landau wood grain. The sending unit has three pin connectors, and the plug that attaches to the sending unit has three connectors. I have not tested the voltage on the three connectors in the rubber boot. The testing l...

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
The rest of the gauges work fine, so not a CVR issue. I pulled the plug of the sending unit and checked it with my testing light. One connector was nothing (I assume ground), one was a steady, but dim light, and the third one was blinking like the wire behind the gauge. Which do I jump? On that same...

Fuel Gauge Issue
Hey all. Hopefully you can help me with a conundrum. A few months ago, I pulled apart my dashboard to replace light bulbs. Shortly after I got the dash back together, the fuel gauge stopped working. Figuring a wire came loose in my install, I removed the fuel gauge to see what happened. ./image-arch...

Re: Dash lights upgrade.
I was headed down that path, but from what I understand there are a couple of issues. 1) Finding LED bulbs with two levels of brightness like the 1157 bulb is difficult. Before you believe what product descriptions say on Amazon, make sure you check the reviews. For the out part, they blow the "...

Re: Dash lights upgrade.
Dimming works a little. No where near as good as the incandescent bulbs, tho.

Re: Dash lights upgrade.
Sure! You need 1 of these: http://www.amazon.com/Cutequeen-10PCS-Lights-White-Lumens/dp/B00EPA7CZC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00. This is for the gear indicator on the steering wheel. I couldn't find a lesser pack, so I just used the rest to upgrade some lights on...

Dash lights upgrade.
Just finished putting my dash back together after upgrading all the lights to LED. http://s20.postimg.org/ap6s20d61/IMG_20160406_212319994.jpg http://s20.postimg.org/qopflk97t/IMG_20160406_212333958_TOP.jpg They look amazing! And, it cost me less than $40 using Amazon.com. I also replaced all the co...

HID/LED Halo conversion
Has anyone done an HID conversion with LED halos for their 64-66? Looking to find a conversion kit that works.

Upper Shock Stud
Hey folks! I have decided to finally replace the front shocks on my '66, and have discovered that the passenger side upper mount is completely missing one of the three press-in studs that holds the shock assembly to the upper shock tower. I believe it is a 3/8-16 bolt. Anyone have a lead on where I ...

Convertible Relay System
I recently converted my '66 over to the moderized system manufactured by the John Draxler at Thunderbird Ranch. (By the way...Love It!) That being the case, I have the entire set-up of original relays (except for 2 new ones) up for sale on eBay. Includes 8 relays, mounting brackets, 8 rubber boots a...
