Suspension question for the gurus
Hi All, So my car is a late 62 hardtop. A while back I ordered a front end rebuild kit from a supplier here in northern Calif. Now that I am putting it in there are several issues, when the ball joints in the kit are torqued to the correct specs the studs are so long that the castle nuts won't even ...

Re: Vent Window Plastic Wind Deflector Removal
Hi, I just did mine. I used a very small screwdriver at the base and carefully worked it up and out of the stainless channel. Like Jim says it is just a pressure fit. Mine did have a lot of dirt and grime specially on the bottom and it seemed to help to wash it with lots of soap and water to help it...

Re: OEM interior aluminum trim or Repro?
Quick question, my trim code is 57 the turquoise. Is the aluminium anodized or a paint or a clear stain? If a paint or stain, might anyone have a mix code? Thank you for any info.

Re: Trunk light 62 hardtop
Thank you, perfect timing! I am putting my trunk back together and I didn't take enough pics ::. The body book is somewhat hazy for me as to how the light was mounted so thank you for the pic Jim!

Re: Vent window retaining retaining nut
Hi , I just finished redoing mine but I am unsure about where you are talking about. On my 62 the top of the vent window is held by a pin that is secured with 2 screws that are tapped into the widow frame. The bottom of the vent window is secured by a bolt (that is part of the frame) with a spring a...

Re: Torque specifications / Front suspension
Hi, I have one more question about the upper a arm. The book says to torque the a arm bushings you have to force a 9 1/2 inch spreader between the flanges after getting the 1.85" measurement from flange to center of mounting bolt. My a arm does not look bent or crushed but there is no way I am ...

Hi all, I have a couple of questions on my 62 that I know someone will know the answers to. 1. Does anyone have a picture of how the spring for the trunk key cover is attached ? The previous owner took it apart and I don't know if he broke it or what but it doesn't look right. I have some catalogs t...

Re: Wiring Harness / no instrument lights
Hi, You might give Thunderbird headquarters in Concord,Ca a call they have a dash to firewall harness in their offerings. I got the firewall forward harness from them, and it looks good. I have not hooked it all up yet but I am an electrician and it looks good to me so far.

Re: Introduction and Exhaust Question
Hi All, I hope this question is ok here. I am putting my exhaust back together now and I am curious about how it is supposed to leave the manifold. The thing I do not know is I am reading about metal shields and mine did not have them. Are they needed? If so how is the layering done correctly, gaske...
