How to Extract Roll Pin From Distributor Shaft
I was installing a new pickup and reluctor in my Duraspark II distributor when I punched the roll pin too far down. Now it's wedged between the distributor shaft and outer ring. Is there a way to extract the roll pin out without removing the distributor? There's about 1/16th inch clearance between t...

Anti-seize compound on new Motorcraft spark plugs
Hello Fellow T-Bird Owners Is it a good or bad idea to use anti-seize (like Permatex hi-temp copper) on new Motorcraft ASF52 spark plugs going into a 78 T-Bird cast iron block 5.8L/351M V8 engine with 95,000 miles? Thinking about using this to make it easier to remove the plugs in the future. Are ne...

Engine to Firewall Ground Strap on 78 T-Bird
I recently purchased a new engine to firewall ground strap on ebay motors to replace the bad original one on my 78 T-Bird (base model with 351M V-8 engine). It was insulated copper wiring like my original, but was 10 gauge wiring instead of 8 gauge. In other words, the new one was thinner wiring tha...

Headlights & Dimmer Switch Turn Off & On on 78 T-Bir
Thanks Tim and Greg for your excellent advice. Turns out Tim was right on the money--bad motor to chassis grounding strap. I replaced it and now my lights and dimmer switch don't flicker on and off anymore! Appreciate it Tim.

Headlights & Dimmer Light Turn Off & On 78 T-Bird
Both headlights and instrument panel light keep turning off and on while the headlight switch is turned on. I'm driving a 78 T-Bird 2 Door base model. What is most likely causing this and how can I fix it? I checked all
fuzes and they're fine.

Thermostat for 78 T-Bird 351M V8 Base Model
Can anyone tell me what's the best thermostat to buy for a 78 T-Bird 351M 5.8L V8 with 93,000 miles? By "best" I mean it will fit properly with the original housing. And it will open and close consistently at the rated temperature and won't stick open or close after 6 months or longer of u...

Does anyone have the black plastic threaded knob that screws on the analog clock stem for a 78 T-bird? See picture. Thermostat PVS Hose Connections on 78 Thunderbird 351M 5.8L
Thanks Spanky for your info--it does narrow things down. Can you now tell me exactly what parts each hose connects to in relation to the cold choke function? Do they both connect to the carburetor body or directly to the choke or what?

PVS Vacuum Hose Routing on 78 Thunderbird
Can anyone tell me where the top and bottom vacuum hoses on a PVS (ported vacuum switch) connect to? This particular PVS is located directly on top of the thermostat housing on a 351Modified 5.8L engine. The top hose is black with a green stripe while the bottom hose is black with a yellow stripe. h...
