Re: Rear Springs

I also have a slight measurement problem to keep the axle square by about 3/8" from right to left and no way to adjust the front back due to the center pin  For that measurement problem, I am wondering if one of the springs is installed backward. Is that possible? I have not yet investig...

Nice...thanks guys. Nbaum, good idea. Who would be a good contact for an original fan shroud? My car did not come with AC and I probably will not be installing it but IF it didn't come with AC, would the radiator be a non-AC radiator with no shroud mounting holes, etc? I know that seems like a silly...

2 Piece Fan Shroud

I have seen in one of the catalogs that I have been collecting that a two piece fan shroud exists. I haven't looked into how it installs yet but would like to hear if anyone has installed one of these things. I only have a fixed fan and a little over-hanging piece of sheet metal on the top of the ra...

I bought my headliner from Mac's and had a local upholstery guy install it. He quoted me $300 then when I had it done, it went up to $375 by the time he made the tack board and installed it all. I took out the bows for him and numbered them from front to back and marked the passenger side for him. I...

I PM'd this to you but just in case you see this first, here is what I did: There are three places on the motor to unbolt. There are two studs with nuts on them at the mount on the window regulator where the shaft couples to it. Then down at the bottom of the door is a support bracket that also has ...

OK. I was pretty sure that there should be no movement other than spinning on the coupler. Looks like to get this done right I should take ithe regulator out and do an overhaul on it. I knew in the back of my mind I should do that but I just was feeling lazy.
Thanks man.

Quarter Window Fuzzy

JimG,
Have a look at this thread that I posted on what I did for the sail panel stainless strips. This might help.

Latch and Striker

When I bought Tiki Bird, the latches and strikers were painted except where the painter painted over grease (which caused the paint to come off). Recently I did a thorough adjustment of the doors during which I removed those items and completely stripped them, cleaned them and lubed them back up. Th...

Sounds like some good advise. So you're thinking that the regulator should not have that lateral movement in it that makes the coupler move left and right. I have been doing minimal effort at first. Pulling up on the window is a good idea to see if that shifting I was talking about stops. If that do...

Ronny,
If you keep the stock window set up what will you do about the motor-to-regulator couplers? I purchased a hand full of new ones and have spun a couple already. I put new motors in the doors and that works fine.

So...I'm bumping this up to see if anyone knows an answer to my concerns. I haven't ordered new couplers yet. I still have not gotten to the passenger door to see how that mechanism behaves. That probably won't happen until late May. Could it be that I need to find a better source for couplers? Than...

'64 it is! That is exactly the kind of tribal knowledge that makes this site so great! I will then just check if I have that same 3 hole pattern for the bracket and move on that. I really dig upgrades like this where ever possible.
Thanks.
