Not matter the ease of getting those two fasteners undone, I cant imagine what a PITA it would be to get them lined up and threaded properly... then again, skill and patience levels do vary.

Awesome find, Jim... had only seen one Wixom assembly video before, and not nearly as long/comprehensive as this one. My first reaction was CRINGE watching all the slam'n and bang'n that went on positioning and attaching parts/components... certianly some of our cars are "over-restored" ;)...

Thanks, Art, for the reply. Jim's site has some excellent pics of install. Because it's so un-noticeable, I'm wondering how much it's absence will detract from the "value" of the car... If it will infer that lots of other things are missing. Tough question to answer I suppose. Cheers... Br...

Rear bumper/bulkhead splash shield

It seems I forgot to reinstall the rubber splash shields (3) that clip to the outside flanges on the trunk bulkhead that keeps splash from rising between the rear bumper and the trunk deck lid. I don't see any way to reinstall these without removing the rear bumper, at least partially. If so, ...

FWIW, you might want to take a few moments to google something like "double roller versus chain wear stretch", as there is some contention over the beneficial trade-offs between noise, accuracy, stretch and wear... Just say'in. I doubt it makes a great deal of difference for non-high perfo...

I'm tickled that my amateur engineering speculation leads me to think the correct orientation is with the slot verticle so as to minimize water collection in the nipple and to encourage better breathing... Air in at top, while water drips out the bottom. The correct answer will now haunt me, lol. Ch...

Eb88... Your question is not chronically OCD, and a reasonable question given the expence of a professional carb rebuild. I might suggest lifting e trunk mat, removing the few screws on the sender unit and inspect the filter cone. It's also a better view of any floaters or sediment in the tank. It's...

I can't remember if it was this forum or another, so I'll do a search next, but this comes up regularly and it usually takes a moment or two to define the symptom. There is dieseling, ping, and run-on... The first and last are most often the same, while ping is different. D & R-O are based on a ...

Inline Tube was pretty fast on shipment in my experience... Call them for sure. Otherwise get a flaring kit from NAPA or similar and flare your own. You won't get as original bends, but you could get enough to make connection if you loosen/detach the clips that hold the line in original locations. N...

For what its worth, I re-taped mine with black gaffers tape during restoration not knowing why the tape was there or what color it was originally, but only that there was something there when I took it apart and the assembly aid was a plausible rationale. No one has ever mentioned it at any of the s...

I read Norton's post earlier, and he indicated that the guy who took over for the owner wasnt able to manage the business. Beyond being a reliable quality source (and priced accordingly), there was a hell-of-a lot of knowledge/resource lost on that website and by the owner (I spoke to him on several...

Interesting Example...

Does anyone here know this car or the circumstances of it's sale at BJ... it's description sounds quality... wondering if it looked it in person... it would be helpful (though maybe not in their self interest) if BJ would provide some bidding statistics... how many bidders, how many bids... how many...

Thanks fellas for the input. Nothing urgent, but knowing it takes time to do it with best outcome, I wanted to start planning now. Dont want to leave it up to the wifey to figure out. Did check BJ site and forums... they've created a reserve for $50,000+ as long as they dont have "alot" of...

Selling advise

This is not an advertisement post, so I'm hoping it's ok here. Needing to scale back on some things, including my restored `62 SR... Some of you know the car, so I'm seeking advise on where/what venue to offer it out. I'm not trying to get rich on it, but thinking it has greater value than what I've...
