Re: Unable to verify Dealer Code on 1955 Production Code
Starting in early July the sales districts were eliminated for the balance of the model year. This also happened occasionally throughout the 1955 model year but on an off and on basis. However, there were no districts codes after early July.

The hardtops on the 55-57 Thunderbirds were built by a division of General Tire in Marion, Indiana.

Re: 2 cylinders running rich
If you have power brakes you may have a leak in the booster diagram. This will cause brake fluid to be sucked into the engine and foul those plugs. This happed once with our `56

Re: Classic Thunderbird Club International
In the middle of March, CTCI closed the Signal Hill California office and shipped all their merchandise to the new location in Kansas City, Missouri. This is probably the reason for the delay. I am not sure who will be handling this order, but I would call Sharon Bosley at the CTCI office to check o...

Re: 1957 front air ducts
You are missing the front half of the air ducts. They are part # 01902 and #01903. I believe new ones are only available in fiberglass.

Re: Still suffering from hard brake pedal
Back in the 1970's I had a hard pedal on my `57 (no power brakes) and found it to be the vent on the master cylinder cap was damaged from the continuous use of pliers to remove the cap. The cap has a pin hole on the side of the wrench area. This is unlikely your problem, but it can happen.

Re: Any Suggestions On A Way to Determine Who the Original Owner was of My 57 T-Bird?
About the only way to find the original owner would be if it was printed on the factory invoice in the box that saya "TAG" If someone ordered the car their name would be printed in that box. If I have it in my registry of 55-57 Thunderbirds, I may be able to tell you past owners, but likel...

Re: 1957 T-Bird Engine RPMs Increase When Brake Applied
Bob is correct, you probably have a leak in your power brake booster. It happened to me and all my brake fluid got sucked into the manifold. Did not realize it until we had no brakes.

Re: 1957 Thunderbird won't run when hot.
John, Last spring we noticed that the exhaust coming out on the driver’s side of our 1957 Thunderbird was a lot cooler than the exhaust on the passenger side - there was a 150+ difference in the temperature. We could not figure out what was causing the difference. When I “googled” the problem, it po...

You are correct, I thought the 9.25 % sounded high. Yes all "M" codes were 3 speed no overdrive.

For the 1956 model year I have 5,294 Thunderbirds in my database. Of these 400 are the "M" code. This comes to approximately 9.25%

Re: 1956 Thunderbird
Most of the mid year changes on the 1956 were in June 1956 or before. Serial numbers starting with 302 would be considered late.
Some of the changes in mid year were fan blades, trunk mat, air-cooled transmission, top clamps.

I can not answer this question. The information in my last post describing the different wire wheel hubcaps came from the CTCI Judges training manual.

Re: 55 vs 56 Simulated Wire Wheel Hubcaps
1955/1956 wire wheel covers have a groove in the edge of the outer ring. Some early cars may have a smooth edge, which is a carry over from the 1954 passenger cars. The number of early 1955 models equipped with the smooth is very limited.
