Well I just removed my heater box thanks to the OP for the great pics. This is one of the crappiest jobs Ive done in a while. I was hoping the 2 rear screws holding the heater core were not present. This would have made it a simple job. but of course they were there. So the whole box had to come out...

I have a bone stock 65 special landau that I feel would look great with some widened steelies and wide whites. Im a Vintage BMW guy so this is fairly new to me.. i put it back together this morning and all is well. the regulator gave me a little hard time but my father had labeled everything many years ago when he restored the car so that helped a lot. its nice to have everything working properly again. thanks for your help

thanks guys, i think ill open up the hole in the metal part of the gear just a tad so it slides on nicely. i just wanted to check as ive seen interference fits on things like this where the shaft is just a tad larger on the end to hold things in place. .

nobody has done this repair?? i just need to know if this is supposed to be pressed on or if i have an ill fitting gear wheel. I dont even know if its an OE replacement part so it may be out of spec. i know it has to spin so im leaning towards a bad part.
