Re: Sylvania Zevo?
I use ZEVO bulbs in each vehicle I have, most especially my '63 T-Bird (except headlights, so far). They are a bit pricey, but great bulbs and I strongly recommend them in every outlet you can find the bulbs for, inside and outside your car. Give especially good STOP and Turn illumination front and ...

Booster COLOR
I have searched all I can think of, including my listing of 63 T-Bird OEM colors for body, interior, fabrics, all engine bay components, et al. The Brake Booster is NOT in my Listing. It is the ONLY component NOT listed. Could someone PLEASE tell me the correct color for the BRAKE BOOSTER? Just need...

Re: Pink-Resistance Wire
I do NOT have butt connectors on my Pink. [ That would be great, but "Murphys Law" says no way, nothing easy for you ! ! ] The Pink attaches into the circuit via molded OEM rubber connectors, the Firewall end has about 8-10 wires going into the same Firewall connector plug. And my Pink's i...

Re: Pink-Resistance Wire
My book of '63 Bird wiring diagrams does not show a Ceramic resistor. But does show the PINK Resistor Wire. The PerTronix Ignitor lll (3) (installing now) does recommend REPLACING the Pink resistor wire with a Stranded 12 gauge wire. Not mandatory, but PerTronix suggests it may run better. Not sure ...

Re: Dipstick tube BOLT
Got It! It was a combo of Jim Wulf's info and a small Driftpin. I figured what Jim said and what I could barely see or feel, but could probe with a short Driftpin MIGHT indicate THE problem hole & A/C Platform (bracket) hole in the block were misaligned, less than 1 thread's width. I loosened (d...

Re: Points eliminator?
After running with the PerTronix Ignitor lll for a bit, what Plug GAP have you folks settled on? I'll be using an MSD 45,000 Volt coil (Bought the Coil weeks before I learned of PerTronix).
I've read of guys/gals using .035, .040, .045, and one was using .050 for street use.

Dipstick tube BOLT
Anyone know the size, the thread of the bolt that secures the Dipstick Tube's Support Arm to the Block? I have A/C and PS and can not see it. I can barely touch its hole with the tip of a finger. Can see one (1) thread, maybe the glint of light off a 2nd, so know its not just a hole. Am safely assum...
G'day, Are you using a 1/2" drive socket or a 3/4" drive socket. You can get more leverage on a 3/4" drive socket. You may have to use a hoist as well. Karl.
Never owned a 3/4" drive. Haven't seen one since the late 1950s when working on GM V-16 287A U.S. Submarine...

Re: Strut Rod BUSHINGS
As aforementioned, I had not used heat yet, can't move my HEAVY torch over to getting it under the car. Never heard of the candle wax method. This old dog just learned a new trick. Very interesting. I have to get a new Propane torch, mine went missing, but I certainly will try YOUR unique and enligh...

Re: Strut Rod BUSHINGS
With much Blaster soaking, a bit of Dremel reshaping to remove corrosion generated ridges on the Nut, a 1 1/8" socket wrench (that now fits) and a 24" breaker bar I have not moved that nut in 3 days. The Castellated Nut and the Cotter Pin hole still line up. I guess the solution is to buy ...

Re: Strut Rod BUSHINGS
My Tip should NOT read "Un-Censored (should read un-cocked = un-tilt or un-tip)". The Rod has an up angle to it that cocks the Nut upward. Tried to correct, but site insists on inserting the word 'un-censored'. Murphy's Law? I give up, tried 4 times, it insists on 'censored' = wrong word. ...

Re: Strut Rod BUSHINGS
Hey guys; Found a set of Strut Rod bushings, complete, originals, still in their sealed '60s packages. Due to a Coil Explosion and resulting engine fire I am re-doing the Ignition wiring now, replacing a MSD 6A (big and visible) with a PerTronix Ignitor lll (entirely inside Distributor) and finally ...

Thank you Allen. I will crawl all 'round my distributor and find the number.
Yep, Picture is 9 years ago and I'd bet its still spotless and I know I'm still jealous.
But, does he drive it ? ? ?

to 30psi: Do you drive your Bird? Using my electron-microscope I can not spot a speck of DUST in your engine bay. I'm gonna go hide my Birdie under my Wolf's dog house.
