Re: Quarter panel removal
Thanks for the info, I was kinda thinkin that the gap was probably leaded so that I couldn't see it. I'm sure it should be a little more clear once I remove the paint.

Quarter panel removal
I have a 66 hardtop with a lot of rust, so would like to take the passenger rear panel off. From the looks of it the quarter is solid with the rocker panel. I'm assuming there must be a seam there somewhere maybe filled in with lead. I haven't stripped all of the paint off yet so maybe it will be cl...

Re: Weirdest problem ever on the lights of a 64 t-bird
Thanks for the update, that had me scratching my head and I don't need to be doing that cuz I'm getting awfully thin up there.

Re: 1966 63C M Code 428 Emergency Flasher problem
That would be normal to read 12V on both sides, once you fix the relays it will probably fix your problem. The flasher senses the current going thru it, gets hot and opens then cools and shuts which gives you the on and off for the lights to blink. Since your relays aren't working there is no curren...

Re: Replacing MC on a 66 with a dual bowl
JTS, I'm very interested in how your brakes work and feel, also would you mind posting pics and part numbers of the units you bought?
Thanks Mike

Replacing MC on a 66 with a dual bowl
Didn't want to hijack John K's post but after seeing RB64"s pic of his dual bowl I was wondering if you would give us some details on your setup. What is that off of and where did you get that? Part #'s??? What booster did you use? Does it all work well together? I like the idea of having the P...

Re: Removing shock from brace bracket
Thanks Paul, I thought the brace support was solid metal and that there was no way I was going to be able to remove it without filing that little ring off of the top of the shock. Didn't realize the rubber went up into that hole. Came off easy with a little tugging. Thanks again.

Removing shock from brace bracket
Just trying to clean/paint some parts under the hood. I removed the domed cap from top of shock area and trying to remove the brace bracket that is under the domed part. My problem is the top of the shock will not slide out of that bracket, there is a little ring on the shock shaft that won't slide ...

Re: 64 Tbird big project- 4.6L mod motor, 5spd manual, IRS
Any updates on your project? I would think that you will have to change the gears in the rearend to 3:89 to 4:11 range the 4.6 is not overly torqued. I think the Mark rear is probably in the 3:00 range, and the Bird is pretty heavy.

Re: 64 Tbird big project- 4.6L mod motor, 5spd manual, IRS
Just started following this write up and thoroughly enjoy it. I have a 66 and also have a Mark 8 IRS laying out by my garage, that I have been thinking of putting under it. Also am very interested in the K member you used, what is it out of and how much those cost? Any info on those would be appreci...

Separating hood
Has anyone separated the inner section from the outer skin? I would really like to take the hood apart to clean out some rust and to straighten out some dents. I'm sure it can be done and I may start on that project this summer. I'm hoping that someone has done it and can give me some pointers befor...
