Hi, From what I can figure per Hill's catalog page 91 the brushes can be ordered as a kit with tthe springs or without. Maybe that's what they did. Hi, As far as the part you need, it all depends on the Generator backing plate. Some are cast and some are stamped. I have done mostly stamped. If your not sure call Casco and describe it to them. Paul
