I've had 4 wheel alignment on my 65 Mustang fitted with 215 radials.

Castor is -1.30 and drives like a dream, I dont think the tyres are your problem.

Hmm, I always use the base plate vacuum. The other position is a less efficient 'smog'-fix position. Less economy with the side position too. I've heard others use the Baseplate too, I couldn't get the car to run right. What about changing from points to Pertronix Ignitor or similar conversion kits...

Played with the car again today.... Points set at 0.15, Dwell at 28, revs at 850, Manifold vacuum at 20. Still not right. Contacted a friend. He spotted the problem straight away - the dizzy vac tube was connected to the base plate of the Holley giving full manifold vacuum and 38 degrees of Advance....
