Re: 1966 Ammeter shunt wiring. Too much shunt ?
Magpie, I see you joined us 5 years ago. Surely you've seen the many posts on the limited movement of the 66 ammeter. The Flairbird used an Amp gauge as opposed to the 3rd gen charge light, as you know. The 64s burned up because all electrical load was passed directly through the ammeter. In 65 the ...

Re: 1966 63C M Code 428 Emergency Flasher problem
I took a quick look at the schematic, they can confuse as they are representative and not always easy to follow. first I would tell you never, well almost never, diagnose these circuits with a meter. Always use an incandescent test light that will carry a load or you will fool yourself all the time....

That is what's left of the rubber cover for the A/C condensate drain, most are deteriorated like that. Good Luck, Bob C

Existing one is 1" square. Replacement is 7/8" hex. Which is original? This is what you should have. Good luck. Bob C 103-0326_IMG.JPG Starting at the dual manifold fitting where the coolant runs out...one hose connects to the smaller opening, goes thru carb choke clamp and connects to th...

Re: Hello and Headliner Questions
Lakeside Bird, welcome to the club. I see you've figured out how to post a picture, that's half the battle around here  The thing I would stress to you is about the swing away column, USE IT!!! When moved to the right, the shifter is prevented from slipping out of PARK, and they will slip out. ...

My 65 had them, it's called a quarter lock filler and can be found in the body and trim manual. Good luck, Bob C

https://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/phpBB3/download/file.php?mode=view&id=6498 this picture shows the valve underneath, is this what you have? Their site shows it has to be ordered separately depending on your application. Have fun, I'll be doing something like this on my 59 one of these days...

Re: Jamco dual master cylinder and booster conversion
The Jamco picture shows a booster and master cylinder, I have to believe the prop valve is separate and not shown. The master cylinder should have a residual valve built in if you select disc front/ drum rear. JMO, Bob C

Re: 59 manual transmission, tail housing colors
That I wouldn't want to bet on, I kind of doubt it. Glyptal is pricey, I used a quality red oxide primer then top coated with a mat clear for wheels. It still looks good after 12 years.Do you know if the same paint was used on the differential carrier housing

Re: 62 Electric Wiper Motor
Although I don't recall coming across this problem before, I'll take a stab at it. Unfortunately Ford didn't elaborate on the wipers in the 62 or the 61 shop manual. I think what I see is a two speed wiper motor, 4 wires all together. The black/white wire supplies power to run the motor in hi and lo...

Re: Carb identification
I went to my 4100 collection (I have 7 left), and checked the 1963 carb. As I remembered the left front foot is stamped (not cast) with the carbs intended designation. 4100's in the 50's weren't marked like that. Ask the seller to look carefully near the left front bolt hole for the number. The carb...
