I never replaced the hose. I got a new fitting crimped to the old hose

Idler Arm Bush

Hi I have a 62 hard top i recently purchased an idler arm bush from a vendor.When i went to install it.it did not fit. Either the vendor sent the wrong bush or I may have an upgraded idler arm. Does anyone know the dimensions of the the various years idler bush. Thanks in advance A Kiwi lost in Aust...

Thanks Karll You raise some very valid points I have owned this car for 12years and I understand its handling characteristics but accident history is unknown I am in Perth so your alignment guy will not be much help to me. My guy does not have any specs so i was looking for a starting point Steve

I have owned this car for 12years and I understand its handling characteristics but accident history is unknown

My 62 Hardtop was exported from the USA in 2004.it arrived in Christchurch New Zealand where it travelled 300 miles in 3 years.
The owner sold it to me in December 2007 and I took it to Invercargill, NZ.
In 2013 I brought to Perth Western Australia when I moved.

It should turn over till you release the key. Same as when your coil is disconnected. Sounds like your ignition timing is too far advanced. Rotate your distributor anticlockwise a very tiny amount and see if it improves

I've found someone who can crimp a new fitting to my existing hose without needing to be removed from the car
