Re: 1955 smaller steering wheel, reduced steering column length
I'm 5-10 240 before my open heart surgery. The steering wheel was hitting my stomach tight squeeze for sure. After my surgery working out three times a week for two years after surgery I'm down to 185. Now I have no issues fitting behind the steering wheel. I have plenty of room. I wish that no one would go through what I had to go through.

See this thread. viewtopic.php?t=21816Mfr1003 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 8:43 pmthe red generator ( GEN) light stays on even after I turn off the vehicle and take out the Key. There is a short somewhere in this car, and if I don’t keep the battery topped off, it will drain it. Idk where it is, but I suspect it has something to do with that generator. The shop I brought it to claims they did extensive diagnostic work on the generator, and it’s fine, supposedly. It was actually the voltage regulator that they said needed to be replaced.
I had the same problem...turned out to be the cut-in relay on the B (Battery) terminal of the voltage regulator...overheating, expanding and preventing it from opening even after shutting off the engine. Replace VR and it fixed it (incidentally, replaced it with an older style Ford VR that came with the car when I bought it, and it's much better quality).
You could have the same problem. Remove the cover, start the car and look at the relay for the B terminal. It should be closed, then it should open when you turn the car off. If not, there's your problem.

As mentioned, this
is what you need (https://www.classictbird.com/Wrench-Ste ... info/TL15/)
What do you mean "doesn't do anything"? No light (when headlights on)? No audio from speaker? No reception? No T&C tuning? A bit more specificity, please :). It can be as simple as a wire to the speaker being disconnected, or as involved as the whole radio needs to restored. Also, the radio doesn’t appear to do anything
