1963 Missing Dashpot

Post by mammentorp »

My 63 hardtop has of course A/T, which as far as I can determine means it should also have a dashpot. (4100 carb.) But no dashpot. I have one coming from Larry's, but can't seem to find a pic or illustration that would show me how to install. Pretty sure I need a bracket that I also don't have....

Here's a good photo from the Bird Nest catalog of the 61-63 original style 4V dashpot and bracket. This is a pretty good reproduction.

Here's a couple photos of the correct installation of a factory original dashpot and bracket on a largely unmolested '63.

This is a photo of a correct Holley style dashpot and bracket as installed on an M Code with triple Hollet 2BBL carburetors. It's quite different from the 4V version.

Excellent and thank you! That bracket totally makes sense and I see exactly how it mounts on the 4100 base.
