Speedhut Gauges

Post by GeorgeG »

Anyone use Speedhut gauges? Thinking of replacing clock with tach and quad gauge. Keeping speedo stock. Opinions??

The Speedhut gauges are great. Installation and setup was pretty easy and straightforward. I do recommend taking a look at the wiring diagram so you have an idea of the wiring before you begin.I decided to replace all three. Quad gauge set, speedometer (gps), and tach. I went with the gps speedometer to have a bit more freedom on tire size when going to a larger rim size.

I went ahead and installed the tach (to replace the clock) and the quad gauge (to replace the idiot lights) but kept the speedo. I wasn't sure just what type of speedo I wanted. And yeah, I know the fonts don't match, but once I get a little more time, I may redo that also. I'm running 17" wheels with 245/45 tires which aren't that far off from the stock diameter, so it shouldn't be that far off.

I know some of the purists may be clutching their pearls :agrue:
...but I think it looks pretty good!

Nice job, George. Good for you!

Are you burning up those mountain roads now with your hopped-up 61?

You bet, Bill. I treated my wife to a full '61 experience about a week or so ago when the temps went from the zeros to the 70s. Nothing like a big block.
