Tape

I've been working on the windows of my '69 Fordor. In the parts manual they show 2 pieces of tape between the weatherstrip retainer and roof. Does anyone know if this tape is stiff or soft and spongy?

If it is like the '66, this tape resembled the black cloth tape you can get at the hardware store, sometimes double sided sticky, same size as the plastic electricians tape. Obviously, I don't know the correct name of it.

Thanks, it should be similar. I do know that what ever was there was gooey.
