Ken, I don’t mean to veer from the hood art but since it’s photos, has anyone seen this photo? Ran across it a few weeks ago. have never seen it before.

Re: Hood art
There were several types of hood art before the "Thunderbird" got the Ok from the top; Here's a few pre 1955 versions

Re: Hood art
I’m wondering is it a Thunderbird concept car? The mid section, hardtop and hood are similar to the bird. That’s a one piece rear quarter, no skirts along with a passenger side mirror and different front end.
Re: Hood art
I had bid on these and lost the bidding war. These were actual photos from ford's photo department....

Re: Hood art
The chrome headlight eyebrows were NEVER an option on the Thunderbird. The movie American Graffiti Suzanne Somers white Thunderbird had them. These were for the Fairlane..... They do look nice...

Re: Hood art
I must have misunderstood the OP's idea...I thought he meant "artsy" photos of the hood, e.g., his pic with the cloud reflections. Was I wrong?

Yeah, I only recently learned that the “eyebrows” on my ‘57 were atypical. (I’m not a sticker for pure originality, and I do like the way they look!)

Re: Hood art
Nice pic will! The yellow leaves and red hood reflection are a nice combo.
Yeah I wondered if anyone else was catching good reflections on their hood?
Here's one my lovely snapped from a recent motoring.
As my dad commented, "every reflection looks better on a Thunderbird"

Re: Hood art
Ok now I get it, I thought your talking about the different hood ornaments the pre production thunderbird would have. This forum would have to wait till summer time to get a artsi reflection picture on the hood. Car is in storage.

Re: Hood art
Didn't see this when it was posted earlier. Reminds me of the early to mid 50's styling of the Lincoln.
Re: Hood art
I like these threads that help us think about there classic cars as more than a mechanical thing. So I wanted to participate.
Yesterday I realized that 3 conditions had to be satisfied in order for me to post some inspiring picture with gorgeous outdoor reflections on a shiny black hood.
- There had to be enough sun to create a reflection.
- Someone had to be motivated enough to clear the snow so the car could be moved outside.
- Someone had to be willing to stand outside in 15 degree weather to take the picture.
It was obvious to me that those 3 conditions were not going to be met here yesterday!
As an alternative, here is my offering "Reflections in the Shop".
