if i cross a parking lot speed hump somewhat diagonally, and it causes the car to rock/wobble side to side as is typical, my engine will stall out or stumble.
does this sound familiar?
reminds me of a ground strap issue i once had on another car, but in this case the lights don't flicker, it would be probably more specific to ignition perhaps?
it happens rather quickly, but i've found in the most recent instance that i can rescue my idle if i give just a li'l shot of throttle. would the carb (Holley 4160) tap out from that? i did lean it out a bit on the mixture, and changed my air filter. maybe it's getting starved while rocking?
when i take the speed bump head-on straight, no problem!
wondering if any of you have been here before?
cheers.

I'd be checking the carburetor float level to see if it's too high or too low.

On a past vehicle, it was my distributor cap not being clamped correctly.
A jolt would lift it slightly, turning the car off.

I would be doing a wiggle test on the power & distributor
Wires. Also check your key switch may be worn. How big is your key chain ?
Few things that come to mind.

thanks, fellers - i had a feeling it was something simple.
indeed, i'd been looking at the points a couple days earlier, thought i was pretty careful while snapping the cap back on... felt and looked straight...
but i gave the cap another wiggle and it actually budged a bit, and seems to have settled in.

My vote is the carburetor float, too, particularly since exercising the accelerator pump cured the issue. A similar symptom happened to me after I’d been tinkering with the carb. I don’t recall whether it was too high or too low. My engine hiccups, coughs, hesitation, etc. almost always seemed to be fuel system related. Good luck.
