That original bit of rubber channel also helps keep cool air running through the radiator, otherwise the air deflects and goes over the top into the engine bay.

Hmm... maybe I can use some foam or something to take up the gap. I still don't know what the original looked like.

Ok so I may be late to the party on this one. I am a newbie when it comes to wiring. I am looking at the voltage regulator on my 65 bird. There are some wires that are off. They are both yellow. Gauges on the car do not work currently and the ac is not working so I am not sure if these wires have anything to do with these. In addition, the regulator is only screwed in at the top where the grounds are. Here are some photos.

It also looks a bit different than some of the replacements I have seen
