Replacing steering gear box

Post by GROOVYBIRD » Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:56 pm

I have a '66 Landau with a/c, and my steering box is leaking like a sieve. I have done a search and see how people (Redbird) recommend removal, but what about getting the thing hooked back up? Any tricks/tips for splining the gearbox shaft to the steering shaft? If I replace the isolators at the same time, what is the current best option out there?

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!

the pitman arm only goes on 4 ways, it would be almost impossible for you to get it on wrong. The input shaft has a groove for the pinch bolt, again a no brainer.
It's gonna be cool when it's done
And now it's really cool !!

Get the fittings started by hand before using a wrench to strip them, er, I mean tighten them.
