What size spare tire on a '56

I am soon going to put on new tires. On the car I will be getting Coker 205/75R15's but they won't fit in the spare, ring/covers (donuts). I am thinking something around 195/65R15. Comments please...

If you have an old original tire, use that. It doesn't need to be inflated. As a spare, the tire in the continental kit is a pain to use. Get a "donut" to use as a spare.

I know using the ring and covers is a PITA to get on and off. I guess using a "donut" spare I would have to keep in the 'limited space already' trunk.
I guess using the original continental spare is just for the look and not a reality.

It did serve a purpose but it was a bear to use. Think about a flat on a rainy day and trying to get all the parts of the cover off, having to stow all the parts in a already full trunk and then having to reassemble it later. Besides, today we have much better tires (radials) that last longer and flat tires occur less because of the better tires.

Yeah guess your right. I do have an old 6.70/15 bias ply I could use. Any ideas of the size of the "donut" I should use. Out of what "newer" vehicle. One out of a newer Ford maybe, I think Dodge has the same bolt pattern, yea/nay??
