Need some assistance in clarifying the OEM finishing requirements for the following items highlighted in yellow.
Hopefully I have presented the following legibly.
I have prepped all of the following parts for Plating and Paint.
Have used the following references, this forum and, Jim Wulfs TBird Garage site in trying to determine the OEM finishes for a 62 SR M-Code and have a few items that I need guidance on.

Re: Finish Requirements Undercarriage-Hood, 62 SR, M-Code
Some great attention to detail there.
I can help with a couple of those, take a look here for hood pins, the last photos are accurate but the nut and washers should be that oil and phosphate grey/black colour (4, 5 and 6 in your picture)
http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/p ... pin#p71068
take a look here for the hood release bar:

here for the emergency brake parts:

Your axle vent can be left as is if it's clear plated. Hopefully Jim Wulf and the other contributors can chime in too.
Keep us posted!

Re: Finish Requirements Undercarriage-Hood, 62 SR, M-Code
Hello Elliot,
Apology for the delay in my response!
In addition to the links that you provided, there is also, http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/p ... &hilit=cad.
The parts shown in addition to other items not shown but included in the Undercarriage and Hood areas were either, painted, media blasted or rusted.
Preparation:
All parts de-greased and finished dry. Then blasted using Glass beads and placed in a Vibratory Tumbler using steel shot to produce the smooth and polished surface like that shown on the Differential Vent.
Plating:
For those parts requiring Zinc (Ford Standard Part Suffix, "S8 and S9"), plated in accordance with ASTM B-633, Type III SC2.
For those parts requiring Cadmium (Ford Standard Part Suffix, "S7 and S50, plated in accordance with QQ-P-416-F, Type I, Class 2 ("silver") and Type II, Class 2 ("chromate - golden iridescent") with a Post Bake for those Hood Latch Assemblies with Springs.
Thank you again for your input!
All the Best,
