Photo Security Test

Post by Joe Johnston »

Recently through some PM's some concern was raised about Photobucket security settings and the ability to go beyond the forum posted photos and see many pictures the poster may have in his Photobucket account.

I need several people to DOUBLE CLICK on the below photo and see if you can see other photos in my Photobucket accounts. If all is as it should be you should NOT be able to, or if so, view only one other photo.

Please reply here with your findings.
Thanks
J

Please let me know if either of these let you see other pictures in the album. One of them should and one of them should not. Please let me know which does what.

I can find lots of nice Thunderbird pictures! The gator only leads to photbucket advertising of cards and other things.

We need others to follow up on this and also test their Photobucet accounts here to ensure security.
Thanks to everyone who helps and follows up!! :fadein:

That's what I hoping for. I don't mind if anyone sees all the Thunderbird pictures. That's what this forum is for, sharing information about Thunderbirds. Thank Joe, for pointing this out to me and the others who post pictures.

Thanks Bob, I locked my whole account and made it private. Let me know if you can still see everything.

Just tried - all I can get now is a statement of your albums being private.

How do you lock out the rest of your pics on photobucket. The las tpic I posted only shows that pic with no link to go to my photobucket.
A 66 Thunderbird is cool. A Sapphire Blue 66 is a beautiful car. The 428 engine completes the package.

kevindeluca66 ----- The shame of it all - I found pictures of Corvettes!!

I think all you have to do is to find the small icon of a padlock on you albums and click it to change from open to closed. (I saw yours is unlocked.) It would be best in my opinion to have every album locked and also "your bucket", or every place you see an open padlock, click to close it.

Post a test picture here after locking your album so we can check and test.

Here is what I did after trying to lock only certain albums and still having poor results.
Log into photobucket and in the top right you should see a small circle with a picture in it next to the (Cart) button.
Click the (picture icon) and it will bring up your personal information screen
click the (privacy) tab
uncheck all the boxes under (content privacy)
scroll down until you see the (Album privacy) tabs
click on (make all private)
click (Save)

Doing this locks your whole Bucket account so others can't surf your pictures. They will only be able to see the ones you put a link for.
