1961 side view mirrors.
Hi group. The round side view mirrors on my 1961 Thunderbird seem very small to me. I was thinking of replacing them with rectangular side view mirrors. Any suggestions on what other year Thunderbird or Ford mirror would fit and look OK. Thanks.

Just an opinion but to make any real difference, you would have to go hideously large.

The 63 mirrors are rectangular, This might give you more viewing..... this is NOT OEM

Re: 1961 side view mirrors.
NOT '63 T-bird OEM - those are aftermarket. '63 only had one mirror, and that was a remote-control type with three cables and a joystick in the door panel. '62 offered a trapezoidal mirror with a base that fit in the top of the door's "dip" between the peaked trim and the window, but these are hard to come by. Similar trapezoidal-head ones were also offered on '63-'65 Mercurys as non-remote with slightly different bases.ICON 1961 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 5:05 pm The 63 mirrors are rectangular, This might give you more viewing.....

If you went with a '63 remote mirror, The Bird's Nest (and probably others) offer a matching passenger side version - not OEM, but should have been.
