428 Intake & Exhaust Manifold Casting/Engineering number

Post by stove »

There is no mention of 428 intake manifolds in the OFS. I ASSume they would be the same as 390, as the P/N in the MPC is the same.
But is there any evidence that a 428 would have had any other casting number than C6AE-B from the factory?

And there is also an omission of info on the Left exhaust manifold for 428.
Does the omission in the OFS mean the info for 428 is the same as 390, and I should be looking for a C3SE-9431-B?

Thanks!!

Simple, does the omission of 428 in the OFS indicate that the parts are the same as 390?

I see that no one has answered you on the correct part question, I do not have a cast in stone answer for you on this either. Have never worked on a 428 but my understanding is that a 390 could be turned into a 428 rebore to the correct diameter with pistons to fit, a replacement crank shaft with the correct stroke, (have been told that a 360 truck engine crank provides that) and the correct external balancing items added.

I do not believe that the Intake or exhaust manifolds are any different than what was used on the 390.

In the aftermarket world the intakes are the same.
How about a nice Edelbrock performer kit?!

I think Stove is going for CORRECT and original factory build.

I do know the parts would physically fit and function from the 390.
I'm only interested in the casting numbers.
