Power steering pump

Post by crashchoate »

I am thinking about putting a hydro boost setup on my car so that I can run a bigger cam. I'm trying to figure out the stock power steering pumps pressure. Does anybody have any idea what the stock pumps pressure is?

Not sure what working pressure is but the max is 250 PSI.
This is a project I've considered mylself because I installed front disc's from a 65/66 and with my stock booster, it's OK but it could have more assist.

I looked in the manual and found the max pressure is 850. So I believe I will be good. I'm going to do this project this winter when I have the motor out.

That's strange, my manual had a test procedure that said 250.. That seems low though.
I'd like to hear about how your install goes!

Thank you for the link. I have read and talk to that gentleman. It should be fine with the stock pump.
