The power window motor stopped working - both driver and passenger switch dont activate it. So I tested the motor with a 12v battery jumpering the 4-wire connector at the motor as directed in another forum post... and motor didnt activate.
I have a rebuilt motor now and need advice on replacing it. The window is in the down position and I see the motor as in this pic and see the motor from inside door shell like this pic . In order to replace the motor, can I simply loosen the window regulator bolts to slide the motor over a tad bit to get at the motor bolts? As the window is in down position, if I pull the motor and replace will I face other issues like the spring on window regulator activating or other? Any guidance on replacing is appreciated.

Re: Replace Window Motor on Front Passenger Door
Rob, I hired a window guy to come to my house last year to replace both my front window motors (paid him a Ben Franklin to each side, done in 2 trips, and was well-worth it!).
As I recall, yes, he had to loosen (or remove?) each regulator to get to the motor bolts.
Good luck!

Rob, I got an email this morning, that you had sent me a notification here (altho now, I don't see it?) to ask about the guy who helped me replace my motors - he's local, of course - I am in the Memphis, TN area.

Re: Replace Window Motor on Front Passenger Door
Thanks Steve and Everyone. It was a little bit of a challenge due to tight conditions, but I was able to replace the motor with window in down position by removing the 4 regulator bolts on the door shell and sliding the assembly inside the door forward. Replaced with rebuilt from Pat Wilson, greased rollers / tracks and it works like a charm. As you may saw in my earlier pics, the stamp/code seem to indicate this was the original motor that lasted a long 56 years!
Thx,
Rob
