Strange letter in VIN number

My cars vin has a "V" in the second spot where it denotes the factory of build. That code is listed no where. Could this be a special code of some sort?

All T-Birds of that vintage were assembled at the Wixom MI plant, the code for which is "Y".
Currently Birdless....we'll see how long that lasts!
