If you look real closely you can see that I had the hood air inlet and the wiper cups chromed. I really liked the look and it was a nice contrast to all the real estate on the front of the car.

I always thought painting was the fun and easy part! All the work is in the prep.
Looking good and like you, can't wait to see it finished.

I hate sanding, but I finally had nerve enough to use a DA with wet 1500, 2000, and 2500 grit disks on my 57. I think the brand may have been Trizac? Even with that fine of grit, the clear cut very fast and made the job much easier on the larger flat surfaces. It was scary at first, but well worth it and buffed quickly to a shine. As always, be careful on the edges!

Dusty - That color combo is going to look awesome!

Anyone considering a painting project needs to spend some time reading the info on this site. www.autobodystore.com This is where I learned about the Trizact sanding disks and other products as well.

There is a LOT of information, products recommended, instructional videos, and a Q&A forum as well. Something to learn even if you've painted for many years! Painting is the "fun" part and my favorite thing to do. Getting a car or a part ready to paint isn't fun at all but the quality of the prep work makes or breaks a paint job.
