Side view mirror emblems

Post by Zkroland »

Can anyone tell me if the original birds can be removed from the side mirrors?
I want new mirrors and the bird emblem that come with them, or in some cases separate to be attached by buyer, look poor compared to the originals even though the originals have some..... patina. Before I potentialy destroy my original mirrors in an effort to remove them please let me know.
Thanks

I'll let this picture do the talking, I took it to show the nest inside. If you get the birds off intact, I'm sure there's some killer product to hold them in place on the new ones. Good luck, Bob C

Looks like you just grind off the nubs holding the bird on the inside, then use something like JB Weld epoxy to hold the bird in the new mirror.
