Front cover of July/August Scoop - Jim Wulf's '63 SR M-code

When I went to the mailbox and opened up the VTCI Scoop and saw Jim's exquisite '63 SR M-code, it brought back immediate memories of when I first saw this car at the 2010 VTCI International in Chicago. It's hard for me to put into words the moment Jim and Don Marsh opened up their trailer and I saw for the 1st time this machine in all its glory... my jaw simply dropped !!!...

I asked Jim to open up the engine bay for me to review his artistry. I critically went over in my mind everything, nit-picking what I was seeing and couldn't find anything that was incorrect. Every aspect of this car was critically documentated, then very carefully restored to perfection. Not 'over the top' resto, but simply as it came from Wixom back in 1963. You simply know when a car is restored 'right' !!! To further show Jim's attention to perfection he let me review his documentational portfilio he put together, the fantastic photography, the style and attendion to detail was again a reflection of the nature of this gentleman.

We were blessed with an awesome collection of '62 SR's like Brian Harris, Norton Baum, for viewing along with Jim's '63. I'll never forget that show field...

Again, thanks so much Jim for bringing the '63 SR M-code to the Illinois show.

Art

Congrats, Jim... Excellent recognition ... More provenance... The photos are impressive, but a personal viewing is as Art says, "jaw dropping".

Cheers... Brian

Yeah... all that. But I *still* want to see a picture -- at least one -- in a real world setting with this truly beautiful T-bird roadster's top down... ::?

Jim's '63

Jim would not put the top down! What, wrinkle that beautiful top? ;-)

I can attest to Jim's gorgeous '63, as I am a regular at the Tbird Garage. More importantly, Jim is a great guy, and a lifesaver!

Congrats Jim!

I feel privileged to have been able to see Jim's 63 and for those that have not I hope you do some day get to see it.

PS We cant forget that one of our other regulars is on the back Dales65 graces the back.

Congrats to both on scoring a cover spot.
A 66 Thunderbird is cool. A Sapphire Blue 66 is a beautiful car. The 428 engine completes the package.

Thanks, guys. Much appreciated! Got back today from a successful trip to the AACA Grand Nationals and just saw the cover in person. Terri sure did a great job of designing it! She even made my photos look good.....

Also just received this news from John Rotella at the Thunderbird Registry:

http://www.tbirdregistry.com/

It's been quite a week for the "M Car"!
