Reproducing the firewall ground strap

I didn't know if this was worthy of posting here, since the fix is pretty self-evident. But heck, I'll post it anyway, since I don't think these cables are in reproduction.

I thought my cable was missing, but it was there, routed from the power window relay down to the right-side engine head instead of to the throttle plate. This is all that remained of it.

Notice the fine strands for flexibilty. It appears to be 8AWG.

I got some new wire at Home Depot, with insulation rated gasoline and oil resistant. It is certainly not as fine or flexible. It is rated 40A at 600V. Pretty substantial for a 1 foot run.

Wanting to keep the original lugs, I carefully pried the crimps open and inserted my new wire and recrimped it as best as I could.

The new cable without original 14303 part number as I have seen on 60fore's.

Edit 5/14/2012: The ground strap does appear to be in reproduction with the correct part number stamped on it but with different lugs. The one is from Marti Auto Works:
