OK Sounds like my system is working properly. Just another reason to take it for a long drive and not sit on a charger. :8:

It's interesting. I think there is a typo in the shop manual. I do have the original spring type. The shop manual says to increase voltage, increase the spring tension by bending Up the adjusting arm with an arrow to the bottom spring mount. That would DECREASE the tension. But if I bend the upper one it would increase tension. I'll ignore that and just increase the tension by bending the arm down and see what happens.
Well I just adjusted it according to more tension. 15.2 V at the regulator and 14.8 V at the battery after just starting at 1000 RPM fast idle. Should be a happy place.
