ac vacuum question
i was wondering when the ac is on should the heater door vacuum actuator close the heater door? i changed the actuator but it stays open, there is no vacuum signal to it on any setting, everything else works correctly but the heater door.
Re: ac vacuum question
Which heater door? Are you talking about the floor ducts?

yes i believe so its the one that on the control (color wheel) is tan then splits into two greens drivers and passenger side, they stay open at all times but close if i use a vac pump on the tan input hose.

Re: ac vacuum question
Vacuum is applied to the tan hose to close the heater doors when the selector lever is REC FRESH OFF DEFROST positions.
No vacuum is applied when the lever is in the HEAT/DEFROST or HEAT positions.
I take it you had the lever in either the REC or FRESH position when testing the vacuum?

Re: ac vacuum question
I think those should be closed in Defrost, not sure about A/C

Re: ac vacuum question
yep they stay open on all settings,im taking apart the selector now to check for maybe a plugged port.it sure seems like the door would close on the recirculating setting.as usual thank you for help in this.

Re: ac vacuum question
Are you getting vacuum from the black hose at the control head when the engine is running?
If not then nothing will work.

Re: ac vacuum question
i am it seems that the tan port gets no vacuum everything else works,i watched a youtube video of taking the control apart and cleaning it,i did that today going to put it back together and test it in the car tomorrow. It seems that the disc that the rubber part rides on had some wear marks and the tan port was clogged as well.when i started the main vac silver would bleed off very slowly now it holds steady and all of the others as well.iv been testing with a mighty vac.David Langhorne wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 3:15 pm Are you getting vacuum from the black hose at the control head when the engine is running?
