Outer windshield trim clip clarification

We're installing the front windshield in the 57 here in the shop. I'm taking over this project from a tech that left, and parts are scattered throughout the shop... I have found all of the outer trim and both upper trim retainers, but I have only located one of the clips that holds the upper/outer trim to the retainer. How many are needed? The FSM looks like there are only three?

Also, on the outer side trim, are they only held on via sliding into the upper outer trim, the screws on the side, and clipping to the lower outer trim? Do they have any internal clips that need to be sourced?

Looking over on Larry's bird parts, I also see this item under the windshield trim section. Where does it go/what does it do?

My suggestion is to call the CASCO Tech Help line at 740-622-9700. They've been very helpful to me in the past.

You should have 5 upper exterior trim clips.

Interestingly I see nowhere the part number you're looking for.

CASCO catalog says 7 clips are needed - part # 3180 Upper molding clips

The Concours catalog say the 3138 retainer screws to windshield frame to retain # 3136/7 and 3149/9 moldings

57’s have 7. This is a 56 he has. All I’ve ever seen are 5 or 6 on 55-56. Mostly 5. Why the differences I have no idea. Same trim all 3 years.
