Front Shocks advice please
I have whole a new front end including springs and shocks. Purchased by previous owner from Thunderbird headquarters. It has Bill Steen shocks on all four. This thing rides like a lumber truck in the front end. Thinking about changing shocks hopefully for a smooth ride. I know the roads aren’t good in California but just the same. This is a Stiff ride and you feel every bump in the road! Any shock ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you, Dave.
Re: Front Shocks advice please
I first installed Bilstein shocks from a TBird supplier on my 61 when I installed new springs. The front shocks had insufficient travel and wore out the end rubber bushings repeatedly. I replaced the front shocks with KYB KG4503 shocks (from Amazon) which had more travel. The travel specs were similar to the Monroe shocks recommended for my car. I liked them fine. Good luck to you.
