1967 tbird starting issue

So I just picked up a 1967 tbird that runs and drives but is in need of fixing up. Now I haven't had to hold up on the shifter but I do have to wiggle the steering wheel for her to start. If I don't she just makes a weird noise and won't engage the starter. Could this be the NSS?

usually it would be the transmission shifter to wiggle if it was the nss. but, still sounds like nss. i have a spare one i can sell you if you're doing a full resto. otherwise, there's ways of making it work.
