Replacement door ID tag

MY 66 Tbird does not have a the "VIN" tag on the door. It was lost by the previous owner at the repaint. Of the course the VIN is located on the body elsewhere, but I would still like to have a proper door tag. How do I find the proper info need for the tag and where do I order a new one? If possible.

look at the replacement tags, then pick your car. get the rivets too. Good luck, Bob C

From the VIN we can approximate the build date, but if you can get the gate release from Marti Auto Works it will tell you color, interior code/type, DSO, rear axle if original ratio, invoice and ship dates for the car.

If you have or find the ROT/build sheet it will have your codes plus the scheduled build date.

According to Marti's web site, they only have the sheets on 1967 onwards. Mine is a 1966. I will have to call them to see if they can help.
