That's a piece which you'd have to get used from a T-bird vendor (there are several who help keep this site up and running with advertising in Thunderbird Scoop magazine whom you can contact, such as The Bird's Nest in OR or Pat Wilson in the northeast, for example) who've parted out cars over the years, source from a parts car, or get from someone who may have one lying around. They will be year-specific as the '63 should be slotted in the center for the hood release lever, while '61-'62 are likely the same. I know I have a few stashed away for my '63s but not sure what the current market value is for them, plus my shop currently is in disarray due to having to warehouse my parents' estate items, which have literally consumed whatever storage/maneuvering space I had left in my storage building.

Trade me a 1963
Alternator cover
Or
Alternator boot
Or
Rear shock absorbers with rock guards

For my really nice, 1963 Arizona quality grill to bumper finish panel.
I have all other grill parts available(except the grill guard)

I guess I could always make some mounting tabs out of aluminum

not the easiest part to find in great condition. but they're out there.
i grabbed one that didn't look as nice as my grille and bumper, etc.
as i was on a deadline to get the Bird presentable, and i figured i might have to upgrade it later.
but i was happy to realize that once installed, the worn areas on mine aren't visible. it's a bit more about function than form.

i've seen some listed as Grille/Bumper "Filler" or "Molding".

i found one not too far from me for $40.
i would have been happy to pay more for a really nice one, though thankfully it didn't matter.

What are the chances I could fabricate some aluminum brackets to hold it in place?

This would be temporary until I find the right one, just want to make progress and I'm waiting on other parts to arrive.

Is this what you are looking for? I've pulled a couple off 62 and 63 and they were the same.
PM if you are interested.
