Anyone interested in swapping their automatic trans for my standard trans?

Post by GregL »

I am restoring my 1957 Thunderbird. Some time in the past it was converted to a standard transmission and I am looking to convert it back to an automatic.
So I am looking to trade my standard set up straight across for an automatic set up. I have the correct 3 speed transmission with overdrive, correct greaseable throw out bearing, clutch fork, shifter with a very nice custom shift ball with the 1950's period correct FORD emblem. I also have the full pedal assembly. The clutch rod installed on the pedal assembly is shorter than the original was as this conversion was done with a hydraulic clutch so that is the part that I have. I do not have the original style clutch rod but they are not difficult to find or too expensive. I believe I have a contact where you can source one unless you decide to go hydraulic as well. Included is the correct length drive shaft.
All parts are clean, functional and ready to install. I do not have any rebuild history for the transmission but it functioned fine in the car before being removed.
No clutch, pressure plate or flywheel are included. Again, I believe I have a source for those items if you need.
Parts are in my garage located in Palm Springs, California. I am flexible with delivery/pick up.
I can be reached by e-mail at: bythepool@verizon.net
