60-430HP Oil pump w/ Scavenger pump?

Post by TomSavage »

I’m rebuilding 60 T Bird 430
The oil pump has a scavenger type pump attached underneath. It has a vane type pump and the vanes are hardened plastic. They are broken and/or chipped. Other than machining some new ones from stainless; are there any simpler options? Is anyone making these items?
Thanks!

There is no one making these items. Here is a listing of what others have used to make the vanes https://www.ebay.com/itm/Garolite-Micar ... 1438.l2649

If you know the dimensions you may find vanes for an air tool that would be large enough to be cut down. Google Air Tool repair vanes and see if anything will work. Before retiring the machine shop I worked in had a large assortment of these blades for all our air tools.
PLEASE invest a few bucks and buy all the shop manuals for your car. Definitely will save you much time and be an education.

Thanks to both of you gentlemen!
I have gone through the air tool and P/S pump impellers at my shop.
The plastic sheets look promising. Thanks again.
