Vacuum leaks
Ok..I need a manual. Until I get one though,,,, I think I have all leaks fixed except for one. 1 line goes toward the front passenger fender, behind the battery through a grommet. Is there another hidden canister in there? I think I hear a leak but difficult with tinnitus.
Re: Vacuum leaks
Did ya find the AC cannister in the wheel well?

Re: Vacuum leaks
Question - how many vacuum canisters to these cars have? My '64 doesn't have A/C and the heater controls are manual, not vacuum actuated. Do I have a vacuum canister lurking somewhere?
Reason I ask is, when first starting out driving the car, it'll make a groaning noise as I come to the first stop. It sounds a lot like pressure being equalized.

Re: Vacuum leaks
64MY has one for AC if equipped, and the so-called soup can screwed to the cowl next to the right hood hinge if equipped with door locks I.e. safety-convenience option. That’s it, just a possible two. (The OP’s question about his 66 doesn’t apply to our 64s. 66 AC is hidden as described above).
You can see the two 64 canisters in this not too great pic.

Re: Vacuum leaks
Thanks Paul. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for the groaning noise. Perhaps it's related to the tranny vacuum system or the brake booster
Nice clean engine compartment by the way. Something to aspire to!
