1969 Ford thunderbird transmission dipstick

Post by OneAmongOthers »

So yeah my original dipstick is damaged (end bit was broke off at some point) and I really cannot tell if its full or not. I see a few listed. Will they work? Is the C6 transmission dipstick any different between models?

I order it anyway. It was only 30 bucks anyway, so if it doesn't work its not a big deal. Hard enough to get any response on these forums anyway. What is the 67-71 tbird like the unwanted child or something?

I measured the dip sticks in my ’66 390 C6 and my ’68 429 C6. The ’66 is 20 inches from the tip to the inside surface of the cap that seals to the dip stick tube, and the ’68 is 27 inches.

Different Ford Part Number, different part...

You need a C8SZ-7a020-A

I'd do some more Googling with that P/N

I am not paying $100 bucks for a rusted dipstick. That’s a rip off. I’ll let you know if the one I got works
