Flair Bird heater hose clamp

Post by 64ZCODE »

Hi there. I'm looking for a hose clamp like the one in the picture that is on the drivers side fender wall of my '64. I need to clamp a 1" heater hose on the passenger side. It could be a double or a single clamp. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these or possibly have one you'd be willing to sell?

Another question: should the heater hose run above or below the shock tower strut?

Thanks!

Doug

Understood, but I’m looking for the same style clamp to use for the 1” heater line on the passenger side. Make sense?

On an A/C car there is a big clamp shaped like a "P" on the passenger side. I think Bird Nest sells them.

So my other question, should the heater hose run above or below the shock tower brace?

Thanks. While I'm at it, the power steering line on the driver's side runs over the shock tower brace. Should that one be under the brace also?

The power steering line should run astride the brace and is held there by a clamp that snaps into the brace. I have a '65 style curved brace but it's in the same place as the original '64 one. You can almost see the clamp in this crap pic I enlarged 600%.

Here's are the lines on my car. I looks like I'm missing the clamp for the power steering line. It must have been under that bolt head next to the line:

Doug, You're right, the clamp goes under the bolt head next to the line. It looks like someone changed one of the lines and you no longer have the metal section like Paul shows in his pic with the little square clamp. Mine was like that for a while when I had to use a universal replacement from Napa. Later I got the correct repop line from BN so that's an easy fix if you want. The BN (or others) should be able to get you that little clamp.
Your fortunate to have the two clamps on the brace though. I need those and the Birds Nest says they're getting hard to come by.

Thanks Scott, I get it. It sounds like I can keep using the replacement line I have and putting the correct metal line in place is optional at this point? Just want to confirm that point so I can prioritize.

Thanks,

Yeah, I ran that universal line for 30+ years.
Come to think of it, the replacement lasted longer than the original!
