Window safety relay disconnected
I noticed that the window safety relay that's on the firewall, only has the middle wire connected, I believe its red, the left and the right wire are disconnected and wrapped in tape, as it is my passenger side window does not work, the driver side does, could it be because the relay is not connected properly? Thanks! By the way, i do have a work shop manual and several other books on order.

Re: Window safety relay disconnected
I don't think the relay is your problem as the other window is getting power. What you're describing at the window safety relay, if two of the wires are taped together, sounds like what was done to allow the windows to be "hot" all the time and not require the key to be in the IGN or ACCY position. If the relay isn't bypassed, I'd hook the wires back up to their respective terminals and see if things work. Use the SEARCH function and use key words like 'power window safety relay' to see what turns up. Remember, SEARCH is your friend.tbirdmike63 wrote:I noticed that the window safety relay that's on the firewall, only has the middle wire connected, I believe its red, the left and the right wire are disconnected and wrapped in tape, as it is my passenger side window does not work, the driver side does, could it be because the relay is not connected properly?
