Assembly Manuals

Post by fly.rodn » Wed Sep 13, 2017 10:15 am

I am looking for the assembly manual which I see diagrams referenced on some of the TBird online stores that show how the steering systems, drive train , etc are put together.

I have the 66 shop manual, interior/exterior manual and electrical manual but those don't have the aseemblies I'm looking for.

Is there another manual that would have more assemblies that I should add to my library?

Thanks

Pat Wilson's T'Bird site has a lot of materials, many that I haven't seen elsewhere and don't have...

The steering and suspension are not really covered in the reproductions of the assembly manuals, which focus on body, trim, and electrical items. The shop manual, along with a copy of the master parts catalog, are your best resources at this point. For '66, I'd recommend getting a CD copy of the 1965-72 Ford Car Master Parts Catalog - Text & Illustrations, from which you can print out the pages you need. The 1960-64 version, AKA the "Blue Bible" typically does not have '65-never revisions, nor does it list '65-'66 parts unless they carried over from '64. Don't shortchange yourself thinking you can get by with these types of publications without getting one that actually covers your model year.
