61 Tbird power windows don't work

Post by Tonuch48 »

I just drove my 61 bird and found the power windows won't work. They worked the last time I drove the car. I know it has a safety relay, but I have no idea where it is located. I didn't see fuses under the dash. Does anyone know where the power feed is located, and the safety relay?

I’m pretty sure it’s at the battery. I think it’s for power seats too. There are individual ones near the window motors. Good luck.

Correction.
The window circuit breaker is in the battery/starter relay area. The window safety relay sits high on the firewall behind the engine. Ground circuit breakers are near individual window motors. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bill, that is a great help. I have the manual, but couldn't find the location.

The Electrical Assembly Manual is helpful for this and much more.
